Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and a role designation (user or admin). Your email is used for login, notifications, and account-related communications.

Profile Information

You may optionally add profile details such as a bio, profile photo, social media links (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn), and location preferences.

Directory & Listing Submissions

When you submit a business, organization, church, school, health & wellness provider, community group, athletic team, or restaurant, we collect the details you provide: name, description, address, phone number, email, website, social media links, hours, photos, logos, menus, and other promotional materials.

Event Submissions

When you post an event, we collect the event title, description, date, time, location, contact information, images, ticket links, and any associated business or organization details.

Community Content

This includes photos, videos, articles, art submissions, yard sale listings, job postings, volunteer opportunities, podcast questions, and comments you submit. For photo and article submissions, we collect the contributor's name, age, and the location where content was created.

Survey Responses

Our audience survey collects demographic information (age range, ZIP code, household description), preferences, opinions, and optional contact information if you choose to provide it for follow-up research.

Communications

When you contact us through forms, newsletter signup, or business inquiry, we collect your name, email, and message content.

We use your information to: (a) create and manage your account; (b) display your listings, events, and submissions on the app; (c) send you notifications about submissions, events, and updates; (d) communicate with you about your listings and inquiries; (e) compile anonymous, aggregated analytics about app usage and content engagement; (f) improve our content, features, and user experience; (g) process payments for enhanced listings, sponsorships, and merchandise; (h) send newsletters and digests you have opted into; and (i) comply with legal obligations.

Our "Near Me" feature uses your device's location to sort nearby businesses, events, and listings by distance. Location data is processed on your device and is not stored on our servers unless you include an address in a listing you submit. We use Google Maps to display locations and provide directions, which is subject to Google's privacy policy.

We do not sell your personal information. We share information in these limited ways:

Public Content

Listings, events, photos, articles, and other content you submit is displayed publicly in the app for other users to view. Contact information you include in listings is visible to app users to facilitate community connections.

Service Providers

We use third-party services that process data on our behalf: Google Maps (location and directions), Google Analytics (usage statistics), YouTube (video embedding), Square (payment processing), and Google reCAPTCHA (spam prevention). Each provider has its own privacy policy governing data they collect.

Legal Compliance

We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or others.

We use cookies and local browser storage to remember your preferences, keep you logged in, and analyze how the app is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling them may affect app functionality.

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. You can delete your account at any time in the Settings page, which permanently removes your profile, favorites, connections, and personal data. Submitted listings and content may remain visible until an admin removes them. If you have questions about specific data retention, contact us using the information below.

Our app is intended for general community use. We collect age information on photo and article submissions to credit youth contributors, but we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental involvement. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, please contact us and we will remove it.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to: (a) access the personal information we hold about you; (b) request correction of inaccurate information; (c) request deletion of your personal information; (d) opt out of marketing communications; and (e) withdraw consent for data processing. To exercise these rights, use the in-app account deletion tool or contact us using the information below.

We use HTTPS encryption for all data transmission and implement access controls to protect your information. User-uploaded files for administrative review are stored privately with restricted access. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the updated policy in the app and updating the "last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
